Video Production Team Lead:

Have you ever wanted to do something AMAZING to change the world but didn't know where to start?

Here is an opportunity to help underprivileged children, to help under-served children, to help ALL children displaced from school due to COVID-19, and even to help many adults who can't read.

We are looking for three, very special people, who have the skills, expertise, experience, passion, and time to be part of something amazing that is already fundamentally changing the lives of children across the country and around the world and that with your help will reach millions more in the next few short years.

Right now, millions of children have no hope; but soon, they will have the opportunity to learn how to read, which, in turn, will open a window to education and to a world of potential for them that, not only, has never been opened before, but that has never even been seriously contemplated as a potential reality.

What we are talking about is an adaptive learning, gamified smartphone app, called FUNetix, that can literally, teach a child how to read, in the comfort of their home, in an average of just 12 hours of total use time!

We are the American Youth Literacy Foundation, an all volunteer organization comprised of a rotating talent pool of hundreds of incredibly talented professionals and interns alike; and we have been teaching children how to read for more than 13 years! We started as a tutoring organization in 2008, and throughout 2020 we created an app, based on our patented reading curriculum, that takes kids from the ABC's to a 2nd grade reading level through an amazing journey that's fully narrated and tastefully animated, and gamified just enough to create an immersive, interactive environment that captures kids' attention and imagination and launches them to literacy in a fun and easy way.

The app is now available in the App Store and on Google Play and in the Amazon Kindle App Store for 100% free download and use. There are no gimmicks, no user id or login to complete. The app is designed for every family to download and use absolutely free with not strings attached.

That's because our mission at the American Youth Literacy Foundation is to ensure that EVERY child in America learns how to read before they finish 3rd grade! We have been working on this mission for 13 years and I, personally, have been working on it since 2003, when my own son, then 8 years old, couldn't read a sentence, despite having been in good schools and despite having received numerous hours of professional support from school reading specialists. It's a long story that you can find on our website at www.FUNetix.org.

Right now we are looking to expand our incredible Team FUNetix with skilled and compassionate videographers, video students, video specialists, editing specialists and creative contributors who will take video highlights from many of our students in our ongoing clinical research who are working through the app on film and learning how to read in 12 hours.

It's amazing to watch the pride and joy that fills the faces of children when they finally "get it," and make that breakthrough to reading understanding. But there are millions of children who are still struggling to learn how to read, many completely incapable of reading, many who have given up on reading and are destined to go through life either completely illiterate, or with semi-literate skills at best without our help and intervention. And now with the displacement of tens of millions of children from school throughout 2020 and continuing in many school districts for an indeterminate amount of time, the loss of reading capacity and learning of the next generation presents a new, crisis moment in American education, and a very real threat to the future success of millions of young children.

So if this sounds like something that you have the time for and interest in; and if you have strong video production skills and creative skills and want to help us share this incredible app with the world through a variety of media channels including our website, social media, online advertising and more, then please reply to this listing and let's talk.

There's much more to tell. You can read more about our story and about us on our website at www.FUNetix.org, or just search FUNetix on the web.

We are looking for intelligent, creative, outgoing, enthusiastic, cheerful, optimistic individuals with significant experience, to include undergrad or graduate work, and a willingness to dedicate 5+ hours a week to tell the world about FUNetix through video. We are looking for highly proficient and organized professionals and future professionals.

Just to be clear, our organization is an all volunteer, mission-centric, extended virtual network, comprised of highly skilled and experienced individuals from around the country (and a few from around the world) who collaborate through cloud-based technology and platforms. Individuals interested in this position must have the confidence and ability to work in a virtual environment using select networking and communications tools and platforms.

Thank you! We hope this opportunity finds you at the right place and the right time in your career to make a difference and an impact, in an amazing way, for millions of children who are waiting for someone, or some thing, to lead them out of a life of impoverishment and into a future of unlimited possibility and potential.

We look forward to hearing from you and speaking with you about the future of literacy in America.

Have you ever wanted to do something AMAZING to change the world but didn't know where to start?

Here is an opportunity for five, very special families who have a child in the first, second or third grade, to learn how to read...and get paid!

The American Youth Literacy Foundation has recently released the public beta version of the FUNetix 12 Hour Reading App in the App Store and Google Play.

The app can teach virtually any child how to read in 12 hours.

Our team of User Experience (UX) professionals is conducting live testing of the app with five families to be selected to participate in the study.

Children must be between the ages of 5 and 9 and be in either 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade. Go to www.FUNetix.org/Learn-Earn/ to sign up.

We are the American Youth Literacy Foundation, and we have been teaching children how to read for more than 17 years! We have been developing the FUNetix reading app for about five years, and in January of this year we released the final public beta of the app in the App Store and Google Play to bring an easy pathway to reading to any child, anywhere, and to help save millions of children from a lifetime of illiteracy!

The FUNetix curriculum is a patented, and is so effective at teaching children how to read, that it usually only takes 4 hours for them to reach a 1st grade level, and another 8 hours (12 hours total) to reach a 2nd grade reading level.

The app has 40 modules of learning content that take children from the ABC's to a 2nd grade reading level.

The app is a gamified, simulated 1-on-1 tutoring experience, with narration and animation throughout that holds kids attention as they learn ALL of the reading fundamentals and become strong, confident readers.

Watch your child go from a non-reader to a reader in just 12 hour!

The American Youth Literacy Foundation (AYLF), is a nationwide, charitable 501 c 3 non-profit. We started out as a tutoring program and we still tutor nationwide. But our focus has always been on finding a scaleable solution to the literacy crisis in America.

If you want to be one of the 5 very special families who are willing to complete all 40 learning modules in the app (about 12 hours of content) on film and within 12 weeks, then please go to FUNetix.org/Learn-Earn/ to sign up and fill out a form.

Thank you! We hope this opportunity finds you at the right place and the right time for you and your family to help make a difference and a real impact, in an amazing way, for millions of children who are waiting for someone, or some thing, to lead them out of a life of impoverishment, to help them get through this COVID-19 setback, and help them surge into a future of unlimited possibility and potential with strong literacy skills.

ABOUT SEATTLE ANGELS:

Seattle Angels is a foster care non-profit that was created to help empower children and build sustainable foster homes. We are a community of people that walk alongside children experiencing foster care and their caretakers. We do this by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building and mentorship. Our solution to the foster care crisis is the Love Box and Dare to Dream Program(s). Our program(s) utilizes a trauma-informed, wrap-around service model that strengthens relationships between youth, foster families, and bio-families. Our volunteers are everyday people that sponsor a local foster family with monthly care packages to meet practical needs, while spending quality time with the whole family to build a positive community. They are changing the way kids and parents experience the foster care system. At Seattle Angels we believe in the power of love, the value of friendship, and the importance of positive role models in the lives of children and youth involved in foster care.

DARE TO DREAM:

Our Dare to Dream program is an opportunity to individually serve a youth in foster care, ages ranging from 11-22. Our mentors are advocates, coaches, role models, valued friends, and available resources. The heart of the Dare to Dream program is to walk alongside these youth as they navigate through life's challenges. They need the wisdom, advice, encouragement, and community that you can provide. Mentors meet practical and emotional needs as well as provide guidance through developmental milestones. The hope is for youth to be engaged, feel supported and equipped to navigate life. As a mentor you commit to meeting with your mentee every other week, set goals, and help them achieve their dreams. These relationships will hopefully last a lifetime, but the program is a year commitment.

Meetup might look like: Grabbing coffee to help them create a resume and follow up the next meet up to ask where they applied. From there you might help them pick out an interview outfit and go over practice questions. Meetups can happen anywhere but usually it is at the youth's home/shelter or a public location. We also encourage our mentors to plan fun outings such as treating the youth to dinner at a local restaurant, movie theater, etc. You will be amazed at how the simple act of telling them, "I believe in you," "You are special," and "You are going to do great things," could change their path completely.

gtm-see-all-class="gtm-topic-volunteer-see-all" gtm-link-class="gtm-topic-where-" color="summer" api-type="volunteer" primary-category="animal-welfare" :component-lang="{ allLink: '//www.badouxueche.com/search/volunteering?query=animal-welfare', noResults: 'to explore all volunteer opportunities.', noResultsLink: '//www.badouxueche.com/search/volunteering', }">
